Vision
UNIAID's vision is of a world with neither practical nor financial barriers to individual fulfilment of potential via higher education.
Mission & Aims
UNIAID, the student finance charity was set up in 2001. UNIAID aims to help students cope with financial hurdles to higher education by providing;
- Online money management tools and practical support to students
- Resources and services to schools, colleges and universities.
UNIAID has become part of the educational charity the Brightside Trust, following a merger in 2008 . By joining forces, the organisations can extend their work to tackle barriers to education and training in new and innovative ways.
How does UNIAID help?
The landscape of Higher Education funding is changing rapidly. Students are facing higher costs, increased borrowing, rising debt and a confusing array of student support packages. Many students are deterred, in particular those from lower income backgrounds. This shift has caused confusion, uncertainty and fear amongst many students and those who advise them. UNIAID addresses these problems by providing effective, independent, student-focused finance information.
